Sacramento has been the home of Holdsworth & Inkwell since the firm's founding in 1962. The headquarters occupies space at 1315 10th St, adjacent from the California State Capitol and within walking distance of the California Supreme Court. The office was chosen by founding partner Cornelius Holdsworth specifically for its proximity to the legislative process and the state's highest court, a positioning that continues to shape the firm's California practice today.
The Sacramento office is the operational center of the firm's California practice and supports nationwide work across all of the firm's practice areas. The office's particular strengths include wildfire litigation for property owners and businesses (anchored by California's recurring fire seasons), eDiscovery practice that benefits from adjacency to the Bay Area technology sector, and commercial litigation across California's diverse economy. The original Holdsworth Notebooks, kept by Cornelius Holdsworth from the firm's founding period through his retirement, are preserved in the office library.
