Recording the Claim
Mechanics lien claim template for private works projects under Cal. Civ. Code § 8400 et seq. Must be recorded with the county recorder within 90 days of completion of the work of improvement (or within 30 days after a notice of cessation or completion has been recorded). Requires service on the property owner. A valid preliminary notice is generally required as a precondition to filing this lien. Use the verification form to attest to the claim.
