Patty Hewes (Chair, Wildfire Litigation Practice) and Howard Hamlin (Partner, Denver) will present a 90-minute CLE program on wildfire litigation developments. The program will cover utility wildfire defense frameworks across the Western United States, including California inverse condemnation, Colorado modified comparative architecture, Arizona pure comparative and several-only framework, and Washington's binary plaintiff-fault rule. The program will also address federal wildfire compensation under the Cerro Grande and Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Fire Assistance Acts.
The program is open to corporate counsel, utility company attorneys, insurance carrier representatives, and defense practitioners with wildfire litigation exposure. CLE credit will be offered for multiple Western state jurisdictions and additional accreditation. The substantive content draws on the firm's matter work across the Western states and the analytical frameworks developed in the firm's Wildfire Litigation Updates publication.
